Sunday night: Write On
So when I was in grade school, I really liked to write. I always did it in between classes, during some of the frequent "open" time that we had back in our grade school (Campus Lab)...
Eventually, around 5th grade, I started writing a story: "The Mystery of the Rocket Tubes". At the time I considered it a serious story, but thinking on it now is pretty hilarious (especially when compared with an 8-year-old Freeman Dyson's "Sir Phillip Roberts's Erolunar Collision")!
In addition, I wrote a series of zany stories called "The Adventures of Brendan and Mr. Guy". Definitely a high point in my collected humorous writings :D I'm definitely gona have to dig both of these out from my parents' basement in the near future....
Anyway, a year or so after this, I reached South Junior High. Going here was a big change: The studies were more intense, and it was the first big school I'd been to.... So by the time spring inched around, I really felt like being outdoors. I'd always like tennis, so I signed up for that. Once I got a taste, I was hooked.
And in addition to school and violin, I often felt pretty busy... Still, one would think that the creative writing impule would keep going during this time. In fact, it didn't. Looking now, I think it's related to all the writing I was already doing at school... In any case, the writing just kind of naturally slid back.
All of which could make you think that now I'd be itchin' to do it again! Perhaps in some kind of blog-type scenario?... And yet I'm not always feeling like actually sitting down and writing something. But once I *do* actually get to it, it's pretty fun.
So now I'm deciding to do this experiment where I write a new blog every Sunday evening (give or take a day or 2) ... Starting now.
